In 1964 Gary Moore had his first part time job. He was doing general repairs at a local garage in Manchester, CT. He was fourteen years old. As Gary’s passions turned to racing and his reputation for adding performance to his racecars grew, so did his love for fixing them. As racing became more and more costly, Gary went into business for himself. He started repairing vehicles in his home garage and in 1975 Gary opened his first shop on River St. in Vernon, CT. In 1981 Gary moved to 1246 Hartford Turnpike in Vernon. As his customer base grew, Gary looked to do more than just repairs. He started selling used cars. In 1986 Gary sold his first Toyota. Ever since he has believed Toyotas are the best automobiles money can buy. Gary’s business has always been about the customer. In 1990 Gary won The Connecticut State Nutmeg Award. This award comes directly from the various nominations of pleased customers and is presented by the Governor each year.

Ben West joined Moore's Automotive in 1992. Ben attended the Technical Careers Institute, graduating in 1990. Ben earned the Director’s Award, the highest honors given in his class. Ben is also ASE Masteries certified. Through years of experience Ben has increased his knowledge to expert level. Ben is the Head Technician at Moore's Automotive today.
